JOSEPH
A. TASSI
Certified Public Accountant
Prior to founding the firm in 1990, Joe spent 11 years with various national
real estate development/investment companies in most areas of the industry.
Holding accounting and financial reporting positions through chief financial
officer, Joe was instrumental in developing reporting and processing procedures
that ensured proper internal controls, logical flow of source documents and
utilization of technology that minimized human intervention. Joe was highly
involved in the income tax structuring of real estate acquisitions and dispositions.
He also developed methodologies in the area of financial due diligence for
acquiring properties.
Realizing this
experience would be beneficial to the industry as a whole, Joe decided to
start his own accounting firm. Joe’s unique blend of practical industry
experience coupled with his technical knowledge benefits a range of clients
from established companies to individuals looking to acquire their first
real estate asset. With the ultimate goal of providing the best service
to his clients, Joe has positioned the firm to work in concert with other
professionals that the client may employ. Client satisfaction is Joe’s
primary directive to his firm.
Joe graduated
from DePaul University in 1979 where he earned his bachelor degree in accounting.
He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants,
AICPA Tax Section and the Illinois CPA Society.

DONNA
J. TASSI
Certified Public Accountant
Donna earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting at De Paul University
in 1982. She began her career in the manufacturing sector while still attending
college. After graduating, Donna quickly advanced to the position of controller
managing all accounting functions of a mid-size business.
When Donna’s
husband, Joe founded the firm in 1990, she signed on to further her career
in the real estate industry. She now works with clients on a daily basis
resolving any accounting issues they may have. In addition to working with
businesses, Donna also engages in the preparation of individual and corporate
tax returns. To help serve her clients more effectively, she has experience
using a variety of software packages including Timberline, Yardi and QuickBooks.

GRETCHEN
K. SAMPSON
Certified Public Accountant
Gretchen began her career in public accounting working two years for a mid-size
accounting firm in Chicago. Her clients varied from manufacturing to construction/real
estate. Gretchen spent the next 10 years employed by various real estate development/construction
companies covering most areas of the industry. During this time, Gretchen
held various accounting and financial reporting positions through controller
and was instrumental in implementation of various computer accounting systems
and establishing accounting controls and procedures. She now works with clients
on a daily basis resolving any accounting and tax issues that arise. These
daily tasks can range from training on site staff to systems implementation
to producing financial reports for management. She is also actively involved
in the preparation of partnership, corporate and individual tax returns. To
help serve her clients more effectively, she has experience using a variety
of software packages including Timberline, Yardi, People Soft, Skyline and
QuickBooks.
Gretchen graduated
from Loyola University in 1991 where she earned her bachelor degree in accounting.
She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
and the Illinois CPA Society.

THOMAS
E. OGLIVIE
Director of Information Technology
Tom earned his bachelor’s degree in MIS (Management
Information Systems) from the University of Wisconsin. After graduating in
1991, Tom worked as a systems analyst, eventually being promoted to IS Manager,
for a forms manufacture company. During this time Tom was instrumental in
the selection and implementation of a new computerized manufacturing system.
Tom
advanced his career by joining a consulting firm that provided systems support
for small to mid-size companies. He was involved in the day-to-day support
and management of several client IS departments. Tom was also instrumental
in the development of a state of the art software system for the eye care
industry.
In
1997, Tom founded his own consulting firm, Business Solutions and Networking,
Inc., which provided systems services to a variety of businesses in various
industries including the real estate industry. In 2003 after many years
of working with Tassi and Company, Tom and the firm decided to join forces
to further advance the professional services already offered by the firm.
Tom’s
15 years of hands on experience in dealing with a variety of software, hardware,
networking, administration and problem solving skills is a definite benefit
to all clients in today’s technological business world.
